Are we OK right now? One screen tells you.

The problem

Ten things pull at you.
Which one is next?

  • What happens

The lunch rush, and three checks still open.

  • What you worry about

    What am I forgetting?

  • What you believe

A manager should not be the checklist.

The demo opens on Today, with a sample day for a coffee shop.

What Today does

It shows one next thing.
It folds away the rest.

Tap Done on the top item and the next one slides up. The rest wait under When you have a minute.

Today

To fix During service, only what needs you now

  1. 11:40Fridge and freezer check
  2. 11:45Retest sanitizer and cloth bucket

Nothing needs you right now.

When you have a minute (2)
  • 2:00Restroom check
  • 4:00Closing fridge and freezer temperatures

A sample list. During service the app shows only what is urgent. The rest of the day it shows the whole list.

That is the whole trick. Today already knows your hours.

Can I serve?

Open for food: Yes.
Or: Not yet.

Three opening checks decide it: calibrate a thermometer, log fridge and freezer temperatures, and mix and test sanitizer. When all three have a record, you see a green Yes.

  • Not yet shows the missing checks as rows you can tap.
  • A brand-new place sees Your first opening checks instead of a red Not yet.
  • It is advice for the person in charge. It does not lock your kitchen or your register.

See the daily checks

That page lets you turn the dial and see Yes appear.

Your cook's view

Check in. Do the routine.
Then the buttons.

Staff see Check in before you touch food first. Then their routine. Then Do, Report and Snap.

  • Do stays closed until a staff person has checked in and finished any required lessons (Finish your lessons first). They can still report a problem.
  • Managers see who is on shift and the action, such as No food work today. They never see the symptom.

See the team check-in

Manager screens show only whether you are OK to work, never your answers.

When the shift ends

Hand off
what is still open.

At close, the person in charge taps once. What is still open goes on the next person's list, with a note.

  • The next person sees it when they open the app. Tell them in person too.
  • This week shows a bar of controlled shifts: checked in before the first food task, and every reading in range or fixed.

  • Sign up and Today shows your first opening checks.
  • When nothing is left, it says Nothing to fix. The cleaver approves.

Questions

Before you
start.

What is on Today?

For a manager: the open-for-food band, what to fix by urgency, who is on shift, and the week's controlled shifts. For staff: check-in, then the routine, then Do, Report and Snap.

Does it send alerts to my phone?

In your browser, yes, once you say yes when the app asks. Everything also shows when someone opens the app.

Does "Open for food" lock the kitchen?

No. It is a plain yes or not yet for the person in charge.

What do I see during a rush?

Only what is urgent. The rest fold under "When you have a minute".

Does the manager see why a worker cannot work?

No. The manager sees the action, such as "No food work today", never the symptom.

What if the signal drops?

If the page is already open, checks and reports you save wait on the device and send when you are back online. Nothing loads from cold with no signal.

Your binder is ready when the inspector is.
