Trucks and home kitchens

Not a restaurant?
Ask first.

Food trucks and carts

Mobile food businesses follow Utah Rule R392-102, not the restaurant rule, so ask the department for its food truck steps.

Home kitchens

Summit County lists a microenterprise home kitchen (MEHK) permit. Utah Code 26B-7-416 says a local health department "may grant" one, so confirm the steps with the department.

Read the guides

Each guide shows the rule behind a check, so you know why it is asked.

City business licenses

The city license
is a separate step.

Park City

The city application asks for a federal ID and a state sales tax number. Licenses end on September 30 each year, and fees are worked out after the building inspection. Summit County Health Department says Park City licensing needs its approval (Park City licensing: 435-615-5220). Park City sits in both Summit and Wasatch counties, so confirm which health department covers your address. City business license page (read September 29, 2026).
