How do I find a cleaning guide?

For a machine or fixture

1. Tap More. Tap Equipment: fridges, thermometers and machines, and how to use each.
2. Type a name in the box: Search: thermometer, walk-in, grinder, dishwasher…
3. Tap the thing. Look for Use it, Clean it and Keep it working.
4. Tap a guide. It shows one step at a time.
5. When you finish a clean, tap Log it. You see Logged ✓.

For a counter, board or surface

1. Tap Learn. Tap Surfaces & equipment.
2. Search: Search: cutting board, espresso, ice machine…
3. Open the guide. Read How often, What to use and If something goes wrong.

Each guide names the tools and products to use and lists a few things not to do under Don't. It shows where each step comes from, such as the law, the maker's instructions or a suggestion. A brand name is only an example from the source, never a pick.

On the Things screen, the buttons under the search box sort by kind. You can also start an opening or closing walk-through, or open the Visitor guide.

If it does not look like this

• Nothing matches? The screen says Nothing here matches. Look in the library below. Try another word.
• Your machine works a different way? A manager can tap Add our own steps. Those steps show marked Ours.

• Follow the maker's instructions for your own machine when they differ from a guide.
• Brand names are examples from the source, never a pick.
• The state of a thing, such as Clean or Late, comes from what people did. Nobody sets it by hand.
