Only managers and owners can open People. The same form takes a Food safety manager
card.
What you will see
A countdown
on every file.
The card lists the permit with its number, county, expiry date and Verified
once you have checked it. A small pill shows the days left. On the Team screen, the Onboarding and permits
list shows anyone whose permit ends in the next 30 days.
The card explains the Utah rule in one line: a state-approved course within 14 days of starting, a county permit within 30 days, and the permit is good for 3 years. See Food handler permits for the rule in full.
If it does not look like this
- The photo will not save? The app says
That photo is too big.
Take it again from a little farther away. - Is it your own card? The app will not let a manager check their own card. Ask another manager. An owner can check their own.
- The worker has no permit yet? Leave the card empty. The countdown for the course and the permit still shows on their file.
Good to know
You check it.
The app does not.
- Everything on the card is typed in by a person and checked by eye. There is no lookup with the county.
- The worker takes the state course somewhere else. CleanCleaver links to the providers. It does not teach the course or file the permit.
- The app does not text or email a worker when a permit is close to ending. The countdown shows when you open it.

Questions
Before you
start.
Does the app check the permit with the county?
No. A manager looks at the card and taps that they checked it. There is no county lookup.
Do permits go in the inspection binder?
Yes. The binder has a table of each worker's permit and training.
Who can add a card?
Managers and owners add it from the worker's file in People. Someone else has to check your own card, unless you are the owner.
Your binder is ready when the inspector is.
